Nursing plays a vital role in Hong Kong’s healthcare system, spanning hospitals, communities, schools, and elderly care settings. With an ageing population driving greater demand for healthcare services, the School of Nursing is committed to nurturing competent, caring, and innovative nursing professionals who advance clinical excellence, education, and research.

The School offers a range of professional programmes accredited by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK), including the Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) in Nursing and the Higher Diploma in Nursing. Graduates of the five-year bachelor’s programme qualify as Registered Nurses (RN), while the two-year diploma programme prepares students to become Enrolled Nurses (EN). Students enrolled in these programmes receive subsidies either through the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) or from the Social Welfare Department (SWD).

Launched in 2026, the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing programme emphasises applied research that translates knowledge into practical solutions for healthcare challenges, linking academic inquiry with real-world impact.
