About IAU

The Internal Audit Unit (IAU) is an independent function within the governance framework of Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. Its primary role is to support the Audit Committee of the Board of Governors by providing independent assurance and advisory services that help assess and enhance the effectiveness of the University’s internal controls, risk management, and compliance processes.

Our Services

The Internal Audit Unit (IAU) provides independent assurance and advisory services, supporting the governing bodies to strengthen governance, risk management, internal controls, and compliance in alignment with the University’s core values, objectives, goals, and mission. Our risk-based audits and compliance reviews evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key processes, identify gaps, and offer actionable recommendations to improve efficiency, safeguard resources, and advance strategic priorities. We also advise on control design, process improvements, and emerging risks and regulations to enable informed, ethical, mission‑aligned decisions.
