Over the past two decades, Ms. Lau’s professional focus has been obstetric care, where she has held key roles in maternity wards within the private sector. Her practice has centred on learning, promoting and integrating complementary and alternative approaches into clinical care, including Traditional Chinese Medicine–informed nursing care, aromatherapy, music therapy and auricular therapy, with an emphasis on patient-centred holistic care and integrative medicine.

Ms. Lau has introduced a range of innovative obstetric nursing services, including the clinical use of yoga balls, aromatherapy interventions, antenatal and postnatal massage, and infant massage. In the past five years, her scope of practice has expanded to include private midwifery clinics and postnatal care centres, strengthening her understanding of service models and the diverse needs associated with antenatal, postnatal and neonatal care.

In addition, Ms. Lau has undertaken internal training responsibilities in postnatal care centres, including the design of educational materials, training of postpartum caregivers, improving service efficiency and supporting the development of standardised nursing service frameworks.
