Tung Wah College (TWC) held its Fourth Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 13 March 2026. Mr. Orlando Ho, Chairman of TWGHs Board of Directors 2025/2026 cum Board of Governors of TWC, conferred honorary fellowships upon Dr. Tony Ko Pat Sing, JP and Professor Liu Minru in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements and exceptional contributions to the society.

At the Ceremony, Mr. Orlando Ho, Chairman of TWGHs Board of Directors 2025/2026 cum Board of Governors of TWC, applauded the two awardees for their significant contributions to Hong Kong’s public well-being, saying that they exemplify the shared mission of TWGHs in serving the community with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. He noted that Dr. Tony Ko’s remarkable contributions are reflected in his charismatic leadership in combating the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. He also remarked that Professor Liu Minru has long been valued companion of TWGHs and an inspiring model in providing structured training for young Chinese medicine practitioners and advancing the legacy of Chinese medicine.

He said, “Both Fellows inspire us that healthcare is ultimately about people. It is all about protecting life and building a healthier, more caring community. These values lie at the heart of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. They are also the core educational principles of Tung Wah College.”

Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC, also welcomed the two exceptional individuals to the TWC Family and expressed her appreciation for their invaluable friendship and partnership with the College, as well as for the exemplary role models and leadership they provide to our students and the broader community.

She said, “We are delighted that our two Honorary Fellows are joining the Tung Wah College family at a pivotal moment in the College’s development. This year, the College is approaching an exciting transition, as we enter the final stage of our journey towards becoming a private university and a University of Applied Sciences. I am confident that our steadfast dedication to academic excellence and innovation will be acknowledged during our application process.”

Dr. Tony Ko, speaking on behalf of the Honorary Fellows, expressed appreciation for TWC’s commitment to instilling in students an ethos of cooperation and a spirit of service, and noted that the College has been an indispensable part of Hong Kong’s healthcare landscape over the past 16 years.

He said, “Professor Liu and I may seem to represent two different schools of medicine, yet we share much in common. First, we are both driven to advance our fields by embracing technology. Second, we believe in the power of collaboration and support the integration of Chinese and Western medical practices. And above all, we have the same aspiration to serve. These values, I’m pleased to note, are also deeply embedded in TWC’s educational mission.”
