TWC participates in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2021 on 3-6 November 2021 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our teachers and students from Nursing, Physiotherapy and Applied Gerontology programmes introduce innovative technologies for the ageing population to the public, such as “RealCare Geriatric Simulator” to foster empathy, “Robot Pet (PARO) to provide emotional support, “Functional Electrical Stimulation System” to improve walking ability of people with disabilities, “Transcranial Stimulation System” to promote motor recovery in patients with neurological conditions, and “Knee Exoskeleton” to improve the walking ability of elderly who have weakness in the knee muscles, etc.
