To acknowledge excellent performance of academic staff and promote the sharing of best practices in learning and teaching, the College has launched the Teaching and Excellence Award Scheme (TEAS) since 2013/2014. From 2015/2016, to acknowledge, reward and promote excellent performance and achievement in both teaching and research, the College enhanced the original Scheme by presenting two awards, namely the Teaching Excellence Award (TEA) and the Research Excellence Award (REA).

In 2015/2016, the TEA was given to Dr. Maria Hung (Associate Professor of School of Nursing), and the REA was bestowed on Prof. Meyrick Chow (Acting Dean of School of Nursing) and Dr. Brian Kot (Assistant Professor of School of Medical and Health Sciences).

The nominees have to go through a stringent selection process including a review by a dedicated selection panel. Then the short-listed candidates of TEA and REA have to be endorsed by The Learning and Teaching Committee and The Research Committee respectively, followed by the approval of the Academic Board, to ensure that the awards are given to the well-deserving awardees.

The award presentation ceremony was held on 5 December 2016. Each awardee was presented with a certificate and a cash award for appreciation and encouragement. The awardees will be invited to share their practices in teaching or research with the fellows.  Warmest congratulations to the awardees again!
