Biography

Mr Bobby Shiu joined the Tung Wah University of Hong Kong in 2023  to help commissioning the new BSc (Hons) in Medical Imaging programme which was introduced in 2024-25.  Since graduation in 1983, Mr Shiu had served both the local and overseas public and private sectors as clinician as well as being an educator for around ten years. 

Mr Shiu also has immense experience in clinical exchange establishment and student development activities.  He has led students to participate in various international exchange and visiting activities during his 8 years at PolyU before his retirement in 2021 and also after 2023 at Tung Wah College.  

At the height of COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Shiu responded to the Hospital Authority’s appeal and joined Queen Mary Hospital as a Locum Radiographer from September 2022 up to the present. As a result, he had kept up with the updated clinical practices which will enhance his teaching. 

Throughout his career life, Mr Shiu was actively involved in the Radiography profession and had been the Board Member of the Radiographers Board, Hong Kong, President of the Radiography Alumni Association of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Academic Secretary of the Hong Kong Radiographer’s Association, Founding Member, Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists.  Mr Shiu is passionate about developing and inspiring young talents and he is committed to nurture the new Medical Imaging students at Tung Wah University to become successful and aspiring health professionals on their graduation.
