Biography

Dr. Tam is an Assistant Professor of the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong . Before joining Tung Wah University of Hong Kong in 2023, he has been a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Technology and Informatics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has also been a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Micro Engineering at Kyoto University, Japan. He has experience in supervising undergraduate and secondary school students for research mentoring programmes and final year projects. 

Dr. Tam’s research interests include colorectal cancer, tumour microenvironment, radiomics, personalised radiotherapy, and radiation protection. His major research field focuses on the treatment and post-treatment care of colorectal cancer, including in vitro, in vivo, and clinical levels. To date, he has published more than 35 peer-reviewed journal papers and conference abstracts, with more than 16 peer-reviewed journal publications acting as first/corresponding author. His publications have received more than 2900 citations with an h-index of 14. He has also served as an editorial member, guest editor, and reviewer of several peer-reviewed journals.
