Dr. Eugene Li is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medical and Health Sciences, Tung Wah University of Hong Kong . He holds a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology with a major in nanotechnology and a master’s in engineering science from the University of Queensland, Australia.
After two years in the testing and certification industry, he joined Hong Kong Polytechnic University to work on a government-funded food safety project involving deep-frying oil. Once the project was completed, he continued research in this area under Prof. Yao Zhongping’s supervision and obtained his PhD. After graduation, he worked as a Scientific Officer at PolyU, managing analytical instruments such as HPLC, UPLC, ICP systems, and nanoparticle analyzers. His research centers on food safety, particularly edible oil authentication and safe usage.
