Biography

Dr.  Yang is the Assistant Professor at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. She joined the university in November 2025. She is a biomedical scientist with over a decade of research and development experience in both governmental and industrial settings. Her expertise focuses on molecular diagnostics for infectious and genetic diseases affecting humans and animals. 

Prior to her appointment at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong (Former named: Tung Wah College), she worked as a Scientific Officer (Medical) at the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) of the Hong Kong Government. In the industrial sector, Dr. Yang held Senior Scientist roles at leading biotech companies, directing multidisciplinary teams in developing in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products and tests for human infectious diseases, genetic diseases, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), and early cancer detection. 

Additionally, her postgraduate studies encompass biochemical characterization and functional evaluation of Chinese medicine and functional foods, bridging natural product research with molecular science.
