Biography

Dr. Yip is the Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. He joined in 2016 after serving as Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As a registered Occupational Therapist in Hong Kong, he provided services in various Hospital Authority hospitals for over ten years, specializing in orthopedic, medical, neurological, pulmonary, and geriatric rehabilitation. He later served as Clinical Associate at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he managed the Occupational Therapy Department at the Red Cross Deyang Rehabilitation Centre and contributed to establishing the OT Department at Wenchuan People's Hospital in Sichuan, China. 

He founded CY Functional Recovery Services to deliver high-quality rehabilitation until rejoining academia in 2013. With extensive experience in physical and cognitive rehabilitation, his research focuses on cognitive assessment development, dysphagia rehabilitation, and artificial neural network applications in rehabilitation. He co-originated a computerized cognitive assessment system with Prof. David Man, published in international indexed journals and presented at global conferences.
