Biography

Dr. TSANG Chi Ching is an Assistant Professor in Medical Laboratory Science at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong .  He obtained his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from The University of Hong Kong and pursued post-doctoral training in the Department of Microbiology at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine in his alma mater. 

He joined the University in August 2021 and has served as Deputy Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Laboratory Science (BSc[MLSc]) programme since September 2024. His research focusses on infectious diseases, with an emphasis on medical mycology, particularly the worldwide emerging yeast pathogen Candidozyma auris (basionym: Candida auris) and the locally endemic but neglected thermally dimorphic fungal pathogen Talaromyces marneffei.
