Professor Fuk-hay Tang is the Professor in Medical Imaging at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. He joined the university on 28th August 2018. Before joining, he served as Professor and Associate Professor overseas and locally, including Professor in Medical Imaging at Charles Sturt University, Honorary Professor at Shantou University China, and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Health Technology and Informatics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his PhD in Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong in 2000 and was elected Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists in 2009.
He worked as a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer until 1994, then joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University until 2015, and Charles Sturt University in 2017. Beyond teaching in medical imaging, Professor Tang has been a pioneer in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in Hong Kong since 1999. His pioneering work in Mobile PACS earned international recognition, including awards from RSNA (Chicago, 2003), World Eureka Invention Expo (Brussels, 2004), and HIMSS-Elsevier Digital Health Award (Singapore, 2013). He has served as a member of the Hong Kong Government Food and Health Bureau Grant Review Board, editorial board member of the International Journal of Radiology & Medical Imaging, and examiner and education committee member of the Radiographers Board.
