Biography

Dr. Raphael Yifeng Hong is a Lecturer in English at the School of Arts and Humanities, Tung Wah University of Hong Kong . In addition to teaching and course coordination, he co-designs English language curriculum and materials for a cross-border program at TWC and coordinates the Language Buddy Programme at CAPLE. Prior to joining TWUHK, he spent five years in Tokyo, Japan, teaching as an English Lecturer at Rikkyo University and as an Adjunct English Lecturer at Waseda University. 

Before relocating to Japan, he taught English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for three years in Philadelphia, USA. Dr. Hong's primary research interests include the internationalization of higher education (IoHE) policies and practices in East Asia, the nexus of educational and academic mobility and migration, migrant transnationalism, and critical studies of English and English pedagogy.
