Biography

Dr. Iris Rongwei Sun is an Assistant Professor in the School of Arts and Humanities at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong, where she also serves as Programme Leader of the Higher Diploma in Psychology. She joined Tung Wah University of Hong Kong in September 2022 as a Senior Lecturer before being promoted to Assistant Professor in September 2025. Her research expertise spans meta-analysis, sleep health, positive psychology, and mental health. She has published extensively in high-impact journals, including Behavior Research Methods, Organizational Research Methods, and the Journal of Adult Protection. Her recent work includes studies on sleep trajectories, flourishing, and dialectical coping in Hong Kong populations. 

Dr. Sun has presented her research at international conferences, including the World Sleep Congress, the American Psychological Association annual convention, and the Positive Psychology 2.0 International Conference. She has several manuscripts currently under review, covering topics such as sleep quality trajectories, latent profile analysis of sleep patterns, and the role of dialectical coping in stress and mental health. 

Dr. Sun's work demonstrates strong methodological expertise in advanced statistical techniques including latent profile analysis, structural equation modelling, growth mixture modelling, and machine learning approaches. She is committed to understanding psychological well-being and mental health challenges facing Hong Kong communities, with particular focus on sleep health and its relationship to mental health outcomes in young adults and college students.
