Biography

Dr. Anson Tang is Associate Dean (Practical Education) and Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. With extensive experience in tertiary nursing education, she previously served as programme leader for higher diploma and baccalaureate nursing programmes for nearly a decade. Since 2022, she has overseen clinical practicum and simulation-based learning while contributing to postgraduate programme development. 

Dr. Tang currently serves as Vice-President of the Sigma Pi Iota At-Large Chapter (PIAC), Vice-President of the Hong Kong School Nurses Association, and Co-opted Member of the Education Committee of the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. Her research centres on mindfulness-based interventions, online behaviour and its associated addictions, and innovative pedagogy. She has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications and secured competitive internal and external grants. 

Dr. Tang has led projects evaluating the effectiveness of online learning and Challenge-based Learning in nursing education. More recently, her work investigates the prefrontal cognitive impact of excessive online behaviour in young adults using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and the application of digital technology and mindfulness-based interventions to reduce excessive online behaviour and enhance mental wellbeing among adolescents and young adults.
