Dr. Agnes Yip is a Senior Lecturer at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. She received both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she developed a strong academic foundation in nursing and healthcare research.
Before joining academia, Dr. Yip gained extensive clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in intensive care units across public and private hospitals. Her work in critical care provided her with deep insights into patient safety, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the complexities of managing acute and life threatening conditions. These experiences continue to shape her teaching philosophy, which emphasizes the integration of theory with practice and the importance of compassionate, patient centered care.
Since 2017, Dr. Yip has been actively engaged in nursing education, contributing to both classroom teaching and clinical supervision. She is committed to nurturing professional nurses who demonstrate critical thinking, ethical awareness, and holistic care. Her teaching approach is rigorous yet supportive, aiming to prepare students for the evolving challenges of modern healthcare.
Her research interests focus on palliative care needs and end of life care. She seeks to advance understanding of how healthcare professionals can better support patients and families during the final stages of life, with the goal of improving quality of care and dignity in dying.
