Dr. Florence Wong commenced her distinguished nursing career with a diploma from The Nethersole School of Nursing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), qualifying as a Registered Nurse in Hong Kong in 1992. Driven by a commitment to excellence, she pursued advanced studies internationally, earning a Bachelor of Technology in Specialty Nursing (Critical Care) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (Canada) in 1999. She further obtained a Master of Science in Nursing (Advanced Nursing) from The University of Hong Kong in 2007 and culminated her academic journey with a Doctor of Nursing degree from her CUHK in 2013.
Dr. Wong’s clinical foundation is rooted in high-acuity care. Following her registration, she gained extensive hands-on experience as a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Coronary Care Units (CCU) across leading hospitals in both Hong Kong and Vancouver, Canada. This frontline expertise in critical and cardiac care profoundly informs her academic and educational philosophy.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Wong has served on the faculties of The University of Hong Kong and The CUHK. She joined Tung Wah College in 2012, where she has made significant contributions, notably serving as the Programme Leader for the Higher Diploma in Nursing. Her passion for teaching, deeply enriched by her clinical background, inspires students to become both competent and compassionate nursing professionals.
Her excellence in pedagogy has been formally recognized with multiple Teaching Excellence Awards (AY 2016/2017 and AY 2021/2022), accolades that have motivated her to pursue ever-higher standards in nursing education.
