Biography

Dr. Leonia Lau serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. She is a registered nurse with substantial clinical experience in paediatric nursing (neonatal intensive care and special baby care) in both public and private hospitals. 

Dr. Lau obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), followed by a Master of Public Health from The University of Hong Kong. She further completed her PhD degree in Public Health and received postdoctoral training at CUHK. 

Her research interest focusses on infectious diseases epidemiology and control, public health and primary health care, as well as neonatal and child health. Her research also includes using qualitative approaches to understand the elderly's and patients’ lived experiences, resilience, and coping strategies development.
