The Certificate in Endoscopy Care is a five‑month part‑time programme combining structured classroom learning with supervised clinical practicum. It prepares students to assist healthcare professionals in endoscopy settings through systematic training, hands‑on practice, and exposure to real clinical environments.
Programme Description

The programme is distinctive as Hong Kong’s first endoscopy care assistant certificate accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. It responds directly to rising service demand by offering diversified teaching methods and an 80‑hour clinical practicum, enabling students from varied backgrounds to develop applied skills under professional supervision in authentic endoscopy settings.

Programme Features
  1. A 5-month part-time certificate programme. 
  2. The first endoscopy care assistant programme in Hong Kong which has been accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. 
  3. In response to the increasing market demand for endoscopy services, the programme aims to nurture well-trained endoscopy care assistant to serve the community. 
  4. Offers diversified teaching activities: lectures, multi-media assisted instruction, laboratory skill demonstration, group practice. 
  5. Provide 80-hour clinical practice opportunities for students to get familiar with the setting and operation of endoscopy centre/unit. Under the supervision and guidance of clinical mentors, students are allowed to apply knowledge and practise skills in a real practical setting. 
  6. Suitable for candidates (with or without medical experiences) who would like to purse thier career in endoscopy field.

  • Care of various endoscopic procedures:
    • Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy
    • Endoscopy Sub-mucosal Dissection and Sub-mucosal Resection
    • Endoscopic retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
    • Small bowel enteroscopy
    • Colonoscopy
    • Cystoscopy
    • Bronchoscopy
  • Specimen handling
  • Maintenance of endoscopy system
  • Occupational safety and health in Endoscopy Units
  • Contingency & basic crisis interventions
  • Basic life support
  • Clinical practicum [80 hours (10 days), commence in the 4th & 5th months of the programme]

Programme Specific Requirements
  • Aged 18 or above; AND 
  • Have completed Form 6 in secondary education (HKDSE); 
  • OR Have completed Form 5 in secondary education (leading to Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)); 
  • OR Possess an equivalent qualification that is recognised by the Education Bureau.

Tuition Fee (HK$): $16,200 (divided into 2 installments)
