As part of the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) project to enhance library collection and service, there will be a library system migration during Easter Holidays.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure a smooth migration, there is a brief period of service suspension for data testing and verification. Therefore, all staff and students are recommended to complete the following on or before tomorrow, 1 April 2015 (Wednesday).

  • Check your online borrowing records;
  • Renew any loan item(s) if applicable
  • Place any hold request(s)

The new interface for the Library Catalogue is expected to start service by 3 April 2015 (Friday). An email notice will sent to all staff and students once the upgrade is completed.

Upon migration, the new Library Catalogue will offer:

  • A clear and user-friendly interface for search;
  • More sophisticated sorting and display of search results;
  • Export of library material list for future reference;
  • Saved Searches” option to keep the search criteria for later use; and
  • Many other enhancements.
