| Chairman | Professor David Man | Professor David Man has held leading roles at tertiary institutions, demonstrating extensive professional experience in academic administration and research management. Before joining Tung Wah University of Hong Kong, Professor Man was a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and served as Director of the Mental Health Research Centre (MHRC) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He began his career as an occupational therapist at Kwai Chung Hospital and joined the then Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1989 as a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy (OT). He was appointed Assistant Professor in 1994, and subsequently promoted to Associate Professor in 2002, and to full Professor in 2013. Within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Professor Man served as Associate Head (Research) from 2017 to 2022. Professor Man has also held numerous administrative roles at both departmental and faculty levels, including Chair of the Departmental Research Committee and the Departmental Staff Development Committee, as well as member of the Faculty Staffing Committee and the Human Subjects Ethics Subcommittee. In addition, Professor Man has secured many competitive research grants from various funding bodies. |
| Ex-officio Member | Prof. Dr. Will W. K. Ma | Professor Dr. Will W. K. Ma, PhD, is currently Professor of Teaching and Learning in the School of Arts and Humanities, and Director of the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) at Tung Wah University of Hong Kong. Professor Ma’s research focuses on communication, information systems adoption, educational technology, knowledge sharing, and knowledge creation. He has published extensively in international refereed journals, including Computers and Human Behavior, Computers & Education, Journal of Computer-Assisted Learning, Asia Pacific Journal of Teacher Education, Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, International Journal of Communication, Law and Policy, Knowledge Management & E-Learning, and Information & Management, among others. Professor Ma has been actively engaged in the academic community. He has participated in and organized numerous international conferences in the fields of technology and learning, such as the International Conference on Applied E-learning, Technology and Innovation (AETI), the IECT International Conference, the International Conference on Blended Learning, and the International Conference on Hybrid Learning. He is the Series Editor of the Educational, Communication and Technology Yearbook series, published by Springer, and serves as an active independent reviewer for international refereed journals. Recognized as one of the top 1% of peer reviewers in the Social Sciences, Professor Ma received the Publons Peer Review Award in 2017. | Members | Prof. Dr. Christina Hong | Prof. Dr. Christina Hong, Ph.D., Hon. D.A., is the Deputy Vice President at Central Queensland University (CQU), based at the CQU Melbourne Campus, Melbourne, Australia. Christina is the immediate past President of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi). She has a strong background in educational management and leadership, with an emphasis on organizational change management, curriculum transformation, technology-enhanced learning, and leadership across the school, VET, and higher education sectors. Christina’s prior roles include senior executive positions in the TAFE and university sectors in Australia, as well as national educational reform and tertiary education leadership roles in New Zealand. She is particularly interested in how tertiary institutions thrive in 21st-century employability skills, the dynamics of innovation ecosystems, and collaboration through internationalization, industry linkages, and applied research activities. Christina is highly sought after as an international consultant and speaker, including engagements in Hong Kong SAR at the Greater Bay Area (China), technology, innovation and EdTech start-up panels, UNESCO global projects, and APAC education forums. She initiated the International Conference on Applied Education, Technology and Innovation (AETI) in 2018 and, together with Dr. Will Ma, has co-edited important publications: Applied Degree Education and the Future of Work (2020), Applied Degree Education and the Future of Learning (2023), and Applied Degree Education and the Shape of Things to Come (2025). |
Dr. Meiju Keinänen | Meiju Keinänen (PhD, Educ. D) is Research Group Leader in Practice-based Pedagogy and a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Business at Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS), Finland. She specializes in researching and developing practice-based pedagogy and learning in higher education, with a particular focus on innovation pedagogy, innovation competence, uncertainty competence, and advancing teaching and learning methods and environments. In addition to R&D activities, Keinänen has extensive experience on pedagogical hands-on work as a senior lecturer. She is currently responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary, project-based courses, as well as innovative learning environments and concepts within the Faculty of Engineering and Business. She has also been actively involved in the development and implementation of the pedagogical strategy known as innovation pedagogy at Turku UAS since 2011. Moreover, she has been one of the key contributors to the development and validation of a barometer for measuring students’ innovation competencies at both national and international levels. Her pioneering doctoral research focused on the development of students’ innovation competence in higher education. Dr. Juhong Christie Liu | Prof. Juhong Christie Liu is a Professor and the Director of Instructional Design at James Madison University (JMU), U.S. She leads programs and collaborates within its mission to harness instructional design expertise in Arts & Sciences, and engages a diverse array of stakeholders. Her research interests include instructional design for inclusive and open access to learning, educational design in technology-rich learning environments, and cross-cultural mobile research. Christina earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Virginia Tech. In — to serve on related EdTech committees (2021), she serves on the editorial boards of TechTrends and the Journal of Educational Technology Enterprise and Exchange (IETSE), and the Instructional Advisory Board of NAACE. She served on numerous international committees. She is also a board member of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Commons; previously led the organization of the Instructional Technology Seminar/Open Pedagogy FEAT (Forum for the American Educational/Instructional Research Technologists Association (AETA)). Committed to professional relevance across and beyond borders, co-authored research has been published through IEEE, Wiley, and regional professional conferences, scholarly and regional academic outlets. Professor Meifeng Liu | Dr. Meifeng Liu is a Professor in the School of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, at Beijing Normal University. She majored in Educational Technology during her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and in International and Comparative Education for her doctorate. She has published over 140 academic papers, 10 books and textbooks, and has worked on more than 76 international and domestic projects. In 2013, she was selected for the Ministry of Education’s New Century Talent Support Program. In 2012, she was awarded the Robert deKieffer International Fellowship by the AECT Educational Technology Foundation. Meifeng’s main research interests include human performance technology, instructional design and teacher professional development, theoretical research in educational technology, and the application of information technology in education. | |
Dr Katrine K. Wong | Dr. Katrine K. Wong, Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement at the University of Macau (UM). She is the founder and initiator of teaching and learning enhancement initiatives, and is currently involved in health, educational and research institutions in Macau. She has published extensively in both international and Chinese journals. The Outstanding Teacher Awards/Education is leading academic courses including Marketing and Quality Theory, books on cultural studies, Mandarin and other languages, Theology, Biological, and related courses such as Eastern and Western Typographies and Imagination: ‘Texts and Westerns’ (2014). She has been an active participant in academic conferences, including being invited to present at a workshop of international and Asia-Pacific teaching and learning events and forums over the past year. | Member (TWUHK Staff) | Mr Wilson Yuen | Over 20 years, Wilson has established himself as an expert in Cryptography, Information Security, Data Experience Design, FinTech and Mobile Payment. In the FinTech sector, Wilson’s expertise in both the financial arena and information technology is well recognized and was ranked one of Cyberport’s Hong Kong 100 Most Influential People in 2015 (one of only ten individuals from the Hong Kong FinTech and digital technology sector). He has contributed to and involved in numerous consulting and innovation projects regarding FinTech, blockchain technology and information security. He also provides advisory services to multiple offices across various sectors. He has graduated and previously studied at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University. He holds a Master in E-Commerce Computing from The University of Hong Kong, Master in Information Technology, Professional Certification, and also at BSc in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
