(September 2, 2013 - Hong Kong) Tung Wah College (TWC) today welcomed its new students to the College at Inauguration Ceremony.Today’s ceremony was officiated by TWC President Professor Thomas Wong Kwok-Shing. The Guest of Honour, Chairman of the Board of Governors of TWC Dr. Ina Chan, delivered speech to the students today. Nearly 800 new students are admitted to various programmes in this academic year.
Dr. Ina Chan welcomed the new students in her inauguration address. She told students that chance only favors the prepared mind, “I trust that the role of TWC is to get students prepared for future challenges by providing professional training and education. Not only the students are able to grasp opportunities, but also help themselves create opportunities in the future.” She added.
In his inauguration address, Professor Thomas Wong encouraged students to be proactive and keep a positive attitude. He suggested that students must have critical thinking and independent thought so that they will be free from prejudices, and always be open to new possibilities “Teachers and students could both benefited by questioning and challenging each other, which leads arguments as a pathway to truth.”The enrollment status of TWC 2013/14 is overwhelmed, with full application on its medical-related programme including the 50 places of the new 4-year Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (Honours) degree programme.
