Optical-fiber Flowers Hand-made by TWC students First time for Sale at Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair (19 January 2012 - Hong Kong) When Chinese New Year approaches, many youngsters are eager to have a real-life experience of "being a boss" in the Lunar New Year Fair. To provide students with hands-on experience in business entrepreneurship and teamwork, Tung Wah College (TWC) has bid a Lunar New Year fair stall at the Victoria Park for students to practise their business knowledge and demonstrate their creativity.

Over 10 TWC students were selected as the stall operators after interviews in the "Lunar New Year Fair Business Model Project". As part of the support, TWC sponsored the full stall rental fee so that the students could have more funds to prepare their products for sale.

The materials have made the flowers especially shimmering in the dark evening.

Prof. Thomas Wong, President of TWC, joined the student team there yesterday. He participated in their stall promotion sales as a salesperson and attracted visitors to buy students' products.

"Students involved have to manage the whole business running, including raising fund, merchandizing, stall decoration and product promotion, etc. Although there may be different opinions along the process, we believe the real experience they came across, e.g. how to cope with each other, how to manage the time, how to persuade customers to buy products etc, will make them to be more mature," said Prof. Wong.

The fair has started from January 17 until the early morning of January 23 at the Victoria Park, Causeway Bay.
