Social Impact Partners (SIP), an impact investing firm, was keen to assess the performance of eight social purpose organisations in its portfolio. These eight organisations were RunOurCity Foundation, Rooftop Republic, Contented Living, OnMyGrad, Snaildy Education, KIBO, Hong Kong Univisual Intelligent Technology, and CareER. SIP engaged Prof. Albert Teo and his research team to conduct social impact assessment of these eight social purpose organisations.
With the empirical data collected on each of the eight organisations, the research team was able to construct its theory of change and compute its social return on investment. The theories of change for the eight organisations confirmed that the organisations were able to generate significant impact for their key stakeholders. The social return on investment ratios for the eight organisations indicated that the organisations were cost-effective in generating social impact for the key stakeholders.
This research project was jointly funded by SIP and the Research Matching Grant Scheme of the University Grants Committee.
